PRODUCT DETAILS

The Aviator 2.0 is a hard charging directional twin built for expert all-mountain riders who like to rail turns and stomp airs anywhere on the mountain. This Aviator was designed in collaboration with Jones team riders Victor de la Rue and Jimmy Goodman. What sets the Aviator apart is its FULL CAMBER profile. Victor and Jimmy swear by the power of full camber for edging on steeps and landing tricks on the tail. The Aviator also features a 3D Contour Base 2.0, Triax Fiberglass, Carbon/ Innegra Reinforcement, an ECO-Plastic top sheet and Traction Tech 3.5 edges. The 3D Contour Base starts after the contact point and helps eliminate edge catch and improve turn fluidity while the Triax fiberglass and Carbon Innegra layer under the
Eco-Plastic top sheet offers supreme pop and lightning-fast response. The Aviator’s Power Core includes a section of ultralight Koroyd in the nose absorbs chatter at a fraction of the weight of wood.

Features:

  • Board Type: Freestyle/Park
  • Flex: 8/10 (1=soft, 10=stiff)
    • Stiff boards are really stable at high speeds and in rough snow, and increase confidence in steep, deep, and rough terrain.
  • Profile: True Camber
    • A traditional full camber profile offers the most edge response and stability possible. The camber radius tapers into the 3D contoured base and releases the edges so you aren't getting hooked up and thrown off, offering a less-catchy feel while still being responsive.
  • Shape: Directional Twin
    • Rides just like a twin with a slightly directional shape, so you get better performance riding forwards but can still ride switch when you want to.
  • 3D Base Contour 2.0
    • A freeride focused 3D base contour featuring an even balance of 4mm of bevel in the nose and tail. Spoon makes the base roll through turns instead of landing flat, making your turns smoother and more natural.
  • Progressive Sidecut
    • This board features a progressive sidecut consisting of two blended radii to accomodate the three stages of a turn. This provides easy turn initiation white offering greater control throughout the turn and maximum power when exiting.
  • Core: Power Core
    • A triple density wood core featuring hardwood bamboo stringers combined with Paulownia wood for a lightweight, durable board with tonnes of pop.
  • Koroyd Core
    • Specially engineered core developed within the aerospace industry. It is the lightest, most advanced dampening core material Jones has ever used. It absorbs vibrations and adds response at a fraction of the weight, enhancing control and confidence.
  • Triax Fibreglass
    • Multi-axis, stitched fibreglass laminate that offers a precise and responsive ride in any terrain or snow conditions.
  • Power Basalt Stringers
    • Sustainable stringer made with 100% natural fibers. Basalt stringers improve torsional response and transfer power from under your feet to the tips of the board to help eliminate nose and tail chatter.
  • ECO-Plastic Topsheet
    • Bio-plastic topsheet made from Castor beans. This ecomaterial is ultralight, chip/scratch resistant and water/ snow repellent (snow sticks less to topsheet).
  • Base: Sintered 8000
    • An incredibly fast base material that easily absorbs wax for when you need to go even faster. Made from Ultra-High Molecular Weight Polyethylene and Carbon, which makes it fast and easy to repair.

Extra Features:

  • Bio Resin - All Jones boards are built with bio-based, renewable epoxy instead of petroleum based epoxy. The raw materials used to make Bio Resin are co-products or waste products of other plant-based industrial processes. Producing Bio Resin requires 33% less greenhouse gas emissions than conventional epoxy.
  • Traction Tech - Traction Tech features three bumps per edge (front binding, board centre, back binding). The middle bump is slightly bigger than the outside bumps for better grip.
  • Recycled ABS - ABS Plastic is one of the necessary evils of snowboard production. Jones improve the sustainability of their snowboards by using only recycled plastic. The rounded sidewall finish improves board durability by protecting the topsheet from chipping.
  • Wend Bio Wax - Jones boards are ready to shred straight out of the shop and are factory waxed with Wend Bio Wax.
  • Oversized Recycled Edges - Exactly what it sounds like, enhanced sustainability and added durability.
  • Factory Tuned - All Jones snowboards are factory de-tuned at the tip and tail, so you can go riding straight away.
  • Forever Flex -  Jones boards now are finished slightly overbuilt and are broken in using specialised machinery that mimics riding use. This flexes the fibers and epoxy and allows them to settle into their final state, similar to riding the boards for 20 days. This provides a much more accurate flex rating.
  • 100% Solar Buil

CARE INSTRUCTIONS

Waxing:
Waxing your snowboard is essential. It will keep you moving faster (which is essential on those flat bits or cat tracks) and will prevent your board from drying out, thus extending its life. Waxing isn’t a one-and-she’s-done kind of thing—you’ll need to give your board a good hot wax from time to time. Exactly how often will depend on how much you ride it, but a sure sign that it’s due for a wax is if the base starts to look a little white and you feel like you’re going slower than usual on flat bits. Snowboards typically come with a “factory wax", meaning a wax that was applied in the warehouse when it was made. You can ride the board immediately with the factory wax, but most snowboarders agree that it’s way better to give the board a proper hot wax before you take it out on the snow. Before putting your board away for the final time of the season, be sure to have a storage wax applied to your snowboard.
Sharpen Your Board as Needed
Snowboards can be sharpened at a snowboard shop with a sharpening machine, or with a whetstone and file
Snowboard Bags:
Use a snowboard bag to transport you board around while preventing any potential damage to your board, boots, and bindings.
Boots and bindings:
Before riding, ensure your bindings are attached to your board firmly to prevent any damage at the contact points.
Obstacles:
Exposed rocks and other hard, jagged surfaces are your snowboard’s worst enemy. Ride with care, especially early and late in the season when the coverage isn’t at its best.
Repairs:
If there are any minor gashes on your board, a fresh wax and buff and you should be fine, however any major defects with the board should be repaired or replaced prior to using.
Putting Away:
At the end of each and every day on the mountain, be sure to carefully wipe off any snow that’s stuck to your board. Don’t forget the crevices around the bindings; leaving excess moisture can cause metal parts to rust. At the end of the season, give your board a solid wipe down (especially if it’s covered in spring riding muck), dry it off thoroughly, and melt on a thick layer of wax—which you can scrape off at the start of next season. Store your board in a dry, cool place where it won’t get knocked around.
