New snow is projected to fall over the next week! Finally a start to the winter!
Looks like winter still has a grip on the northern island of Japan. Hokkaido is still pumping. Miracle March is where its at! Snow is foretasted for the next three days at elevations above 700 meters. Check out this recent photo from Niseko Photography and Guiding taken only about a week ago.

Niseko officially opened for the 2016/2017 season three days ago with a decent snowpack. About 24cm of fresh snow fell the night before the resort opened. Conditions couldn't have been better as skiers and boarders enjoyed the new coating of snow. Its looking to be the start of an amazing season, by some predictions, it could be an above average year with El Nino pulling plenty of precipitation to the region. Niseko already has a proper base of snow and is Scheduled to open on the 24th of November. The snowpack is already looking excellent and hopefully there is a killer season ahead.
